Tour de Yorkshire Grand Depart Campsite

 

Enjoy the the Tour De France with Functional Fitness Events right in the centre of Stage 1 and Stage 2.  You can camp or motorhome/camper  in the beautiful village of Dacre Banks (4th,5th and 6th) only 4 miles from the route.  Perfect for the whole family.

Camp site facilities 

The Tour de France camp site will have a number of mobile toilets and showers (limited) - these are for campers only. Water and an area for you to wash camping utensils and to dispose of rubbish will also be provided.  It is recommended that you arrive early Friday due to the road closures.  The tented campsite is situated directly opposite the Dacre Banks Cricket Club  and ideal location to stay to watch the Tour de France Grand Depart in Yorkshire - see map below.

Sat 5th Traditional Scottish Ceilidh Band  

There is an option to purchase a ticket for a traditional Scottish ceilidh dance in the Village Hall on Sat 4th July. Please don't worry if you have never been to a ceilidh before, its very easy to pick up and great fun. This will also include traditional Pie & Peas supper supplied by the local Summerbridge butcher.  In addition to this you can also enjoy the local Pedal Power beer which is brewed locally in Starbeck, Nr Harrogate.  

Local amenities within walking distance include two public houses (the Royal Oak Inn and the Flying Dutchman) and two village shops; one in Summerbridge and the second in Dacre Banks. Both shops offer a good stock of food, drink and groceries. 

Live coverage of the Tour De France all weekend.

There will be a large projector in the Village Hall all weekend to allow you to watch the Tour De France ( ITV4 coverage) live.  So once you've seen the race fly past you can then watch the rest of the action in the comfort of the Village Hall if you wish.   This facility will be for registered campers only.

Adult ticket for Entertainment with pie & pea supper - £15.00 each 

Child ticket for Entertainment with pie and pea super and local ice cream supplied by G&T's Ice cream parlour - £5.00 each.
